Alert! – As we look around us in America and the world, we should be concerned. Much of what is important to us is already broken or is endangered, much of it unnecessarily so. Unfortunately, most current strategy, policy and management models are too limited for today’s problems and inadequate for succeeding with a more challenging future.

Alert! – The 2010 health reform law provides progress for America. But, it fails to cover all key issues, is under attack, and faces a very challenging implementation.
Action! – “HealthePeople – Building a Healthy America and World” addresses current programs, the 2010 health reform law, the remaining gaps and the execution challenges. Let’s combine the best of all our strategies. Let’s ensure that we take no steps backward from ensuring affordability, accessibility and high quality. Vulnerable In America – We Feel Vulnerable, And We Are

Alert! – In America and in the world today, we are all vulnerable to some greater or lesser extent. We hold that in common. Follow the news. Start with one of the 43.6 million Americans, one in seven, who are now in poverty. Nearly four million more than in 2008. Or, start with one of the 50.7 millions, one in seven, who are now uninsured for needed health care. Over four million more than in 2008. Just talk to them/us. You know them/us. They/we walk the streets and roads of America. Walking the streets and roads of America today, you see it in our faces and you hear it in our voices. We feel vulnerable, and we are.

Alert! – Thrive America! That should be the rallying cry of the “99%”, small and large businesses, Congress (both parties) and the White House. To get there, it is “Jobs America!” It is about large, positive, timely and sustainable change.

Alert! – In the frustrations of the 99%, there is much to be against. Creating large, positive and sustainable change requires much to be for. What we hold in common is our need to survive and desire to thrive.

Return to Washington. Emergency Congressional Session.

Alert! – Mr. President and Congressional Leaders and Members. People are in trouble, the economy is in trouble, and our future is endangered.
Action! - Mr. President, call Congress into emergency session now. Return today to Washington. Congress return to Washington now. Fix the American economy, protect our most vulnerable and build a thriving American future. Gary Christopherson, www.ThrivingFuture.org

Nonpartisan National and State Commitment to America’s Vulnerable.

Alert! – We are impaled on the horns of a dilemma. As a caring nation, we need to provide health insurance to America’s disabled and poor and near poor. Medicaid has long been a foundation. The new health reform law will provide some long overdue relief as well. But we cannot afford to bankrupt the States. Keeping their and America’s people healthy includes Medicaid but is more than Medicaid. Also needed are jobs, income, housing, food, and education. To a greater or lesser extent, States play a vital role on and need resources for these as well.
Action! – So while we cannot back off on covering people in need, there are two steps we all need to take. First, we need to get more people back to work in productive and rewarding work as soon as possible. Second, we need to make and keep health care affordable without sacrificing quality and access. Both are feasible if we have the will. America’s leaders at the national and State levels need to make and deliver on a nonpartisan commitment to make that happen and now.

Joint nonpartisan commitment to fulfilling the American dream and building a thriving America

Alert! – Suppose for just one moment we could set aside all the arrogance of all parties. Suppose that we envision something that could rise above the value of winning the next election.
As we look around America and the world, much of what is important to us is already broken or is endangered, much of it unnecessarily so.
Action! – What we need is a joint nonpartisan commitment to fulfilling the American dream and building a thriving America. It has happened before. It can and must happen again. Now is the time.
Let me respectfully suggest to Republicans, Democrats and Independents that our joint nonpartisan “mission” should be to build a better future and our joint nonpartisan “vision” should be to achieve a positive, sustainable, thriving future.

The Endangered American Dream. Building a Thriving Future.

A survivable future? A thriving future? Americans desperately need and want both!
Will America get it? That is the question.
The 2012 elections will be about today’s and tomorrow’s pain and fear.
Today we must end the pain and reject the fear. Partisanship must end. Nonpartisanship must lead and govern.
Tomorrow must be about a survivable, thriving future. Tomorrow must be about recovering and delivering the American dream.
